Crystals and Elemental Energies
People often ask us what crystal is good for this or good for that. Although there are many crystals one can choose, it is often the crystal
you are most attracted to which will help with your concern. Throughout history, healers, shamans, scientists, mystics and others have classified crystals in their own particular ways. Some use the colour, the shape, the area it is found, the sparkle, sheen, chemical composition or natural beauty to assign health or healing attributes to a crystal.
One such classification system uses Natural Elemental Energies to describe attributes and properties of crystals
The basic premise is that the Elemental Forces known as Earth, Fire, Water, Wind and Storm are events that describe energetic
interactions in and around us. Movement and relationship between these elemental forces help our outer and inner worlds achieve a balanced existence.
Any resistance to the movement and flow can create problems on any and every energetic level.
Minerals, crystals and stones are seen as the vehicles through which the Earth's Energy Field is distributed and balanced.
Crystals, because of their specific crystaline structure, are able to record the energetic imprint. The experience you have when holding a crystal is directly related to its electro-magnetic energy signature. This signature can be described in terms of an Elemental
Force or Energy.
Earth Element Crystals resonate with our physical being. They are considered "grounding stones".
Help support changes, balance emotions connected with survival, feelings of being capable and responsible. Eg. Hematite, Jaspers, Garnet, Black Tourmaline
Fire Element Crystals resonate with our energy systems and vitality; they tend to stimulate our body and energetic field. They govern flow of energy through meridians, vitality of chakras and how we use our will or personal power.
Creation and manifestation are highlighted. Eg. Carnelian, Tiger Eye, Citrine, Malachite, Sunstone
Water Element Crystals resonate with our emotional body, circulatory system, lymphatic system and fluids of the body. Helps one to release the past and "flow" towards the future. Helps communicate one's truth, feel more compassion and love, both for other's and one's self.
Lessons are about setting emotional boundaries. Eg. Amazonite, Chrysocolla, Rhodochrosite, Rose Quartz, Kunzite
Wind Element Crystals resonate with our mental body, respiratory system and thinking ability. Sharpen the mind, support studying and learning and assist in opening the psychic and intuitive abilities.
Good for breathwork and meditation. Eg. Apophyllite, Fluorite, Amethyst, Labradorite, Celestite
Storm Element Crystals resonate with any and all chakras and all levels of body, mind and spirit. Carry all the energies of all the elemental forces. Used when massive transformation, cleansing and radical balancing are called for. Expect changes in both the external and internal worlds when using them.
Use for short times only. Eg. Clear Quartz, Covellite, Herkimer Diamond, Tourmalinated Quartz, Kyanite, Tektite
Looking over the descriptions of Elemental Crystals and their suggested uses, it is interesting to see the overlap with information on chakras, energy work, TCM and colour/sound therapies. There is no one "correct" answer or method. The wonder and magic lies in the fact that Nature has many ways of helping us. All we need to do is explore and experience the many ways of natural health and healing.
Let Mother Nature's art, in the form of her crystals, be part of your healing journey.
