Crystals of the Heart by Pat Antoniak
The month of February is the main “media blitz” month for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We will hear about all the important diet, lifestyle and preventative actions for a healthy heart. We will be told about the importance of reducing stress and enjoying the things in life that give us joy. These things are extremely important and need careful consideration. But rarely will you hear them talk about Mother Nature's heart helpers which come in the form of crystals.
There are thousands of crystals available for home decoration, jewelry and meditation uses. Of these, certain ones are said to possess energetic properties meant to work on the issues of the physical and emotional heart. Here are but a few examples, taken from Judy Hall’s book entitled, The Crystal Bible: A Definitive Guide to Crystals
Rose Quartz - the pink stone most recognized as the symbol of Unconditional Love. Using it and having it around helps ease stress and open one up to the ability to connect heart to heart with others. Gentle and helpful for everyone.
Rhodochrosite – this swirling pink, white and grey stone is often polished to reveal the shape of a heart within its formation. It represents selfless love and compassion. It is helpful for those who feel unloved; it strengthens relationships with both the self and others. One of the best stones to help victims of sexual abuse heal.
Kunzite – can be found as a pink, green, purple or combination stone and is considered to have a high vibration. Helps to awaken the heart and have loving thoughts and communication. It radiates peace and will connect you to Universal Love.
It encourages humility and the willingness to serve.
Emerald - this beautiful green crystal is known as the Stone of Successful Love. It is a stone of inspiration and infinite patience. Thought to bring domestic bliss and loyalty to a relationship. It enhances unity, unconditional love and partnership; promotes friendship. Will help keep a relationship in balance. If it changes colour, it is said to signal unfaithfulness.
Rainbow Obsidian – a gentler Obsidian having the bands of pink, green and blue running through it. It is very protective; helps you cut the cords of old love and gently releases hooks that others have left in your heart, thereby helping to replenish the energy in your heart. When worn, it will draw off stress from the body.
Seraphinite – a green stone with silvery-white feathers within the darker green. An excellent stone for accessing self-healing; promotes living from the heart. Its name refers to its highly spiritual nature – helping us connect with our angelic guides so that our life on earth is of the highest nature.
Watermelon Tourmaline – shows as pink enfolded with green. Called the “super-activator” of the heart chakra, linking it to the higher self and fostering love, tenderness and friendship. Instill patience and teaches diplomacy. It helps to find joy within situations.
