Pat has both a diploma and degree in nursing and has been a practicing Registered Nurse for almost 40 years. She has active practicing professional membership in both the provincial and national nursing associations. She specializes in mental health care, individual and group therapy, acute and chronic pain management, health education and research. Pat has retired from patient care services at a local hospital, but continues to offer private nursing care and consultations as needed at the Centre.
Her company, Natural Comfort Aromatherapy, has offered services, products and education to those in the Lower Mainland and abroad since 1995. Pat developed and taught the first Aromatherapy Practitioner Program for Langara College, Vancouver, BC. She continues teaching Advanced and Interest Courses for aromatherapists and other therapists. She also offers her Basic Anatomy, Physiology and Common Pathologies course via correspondence learning.
Pat is a founding member and past-president of the BC Alliance Of Aromatherapy and past board member of the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists. She currently is vice-president of the BCAPA, a director of BCAOA and holds an editorial board position with the International Journal of Clinical Aromatherapy. She holds membership in several local and international professional organizations, both in nursing and aromatherapy.
In addition to her nursing and aromatherapy, Pat has basic training in Healing Touch, Ayurvedic massage, energy work using crystals, colour sound, Reiki and chakra balancing. Pat has blended her nursing, aromatherapy and energetic practices into a comprehensive, client-centered approach to care. She is the owner-manager of the Centre.
